The Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA) received with gratitude the cheering news of the appointment of Maj-Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, an illustrious son of Zangon Kataf LG, Kaduna State, as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
ACDA, in Zangon Kataf LGA of the State, is one of the communities that have suffered unbearably, in the wrath of insurgents, otherwise widely known as “terrorism and banditries” that had ravaged Kaduna.
In a statement signed by ACDA President, Samuel T. Achie, on Friday in Kaduna, the Association, which described the appointment as “well deserving,” noted that it was an indication that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu meant well for their dear country, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I commend the President for this bold step, which I believe is putting round pegs in round holes that will further solidify Nigeria’s unity and strengthen the nation’s coexistence.
While they congratulated the CDS on his appointment, on behalf of the association, “The appointment,” according to them “never came to us as a surprise, as your track record in the Nigerian Army both within and outside Nigeria stands you out for this feat.”
“ACDA pray for God’s guidance and protection to enable you give Nigerians the long desired peace in the nation. It is not going to be an easy task, but we are also confident that you are well able to surmount these challenges, God helping you.
“I want to at this point thank His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for finding our illustrious son worthy of his trust to work with him in this capacity. I assure Mr. President that you will never regret this singular decision.
“As President of ACDA, I wish to also commend the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, for identifying with the appointment of the CDS, which is an indication that the CDS will be given all the necessary support to succeed in this assignment.
“To the Zangon Kataf Local Government Chairman, I say ‘Congratulations’ to what the Lord has done for the entire LG.
“To our father, the Agwatyap, and to all those that felicitate with this appointment, I say ‘Congratulations’ to all of us and pray God to bless and spare our lives to witness that celebration of total peace and security in Nigeria, Kaduna State and the Southern Kaduna region in particular,” it stated.
Recalled that ACDA and Zangon Kataf LGA is one of the most victimized and brutalized area by bandits in Kaduna State in recent times.
