Nigerians are going through hell, do things to reduce sufferings – Zaria churches

by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Apparently owing to hardship orchestrated by terrorism, kidnapping, naira policy and others, Christians in Sabon Gari local government area of Zaria, in Kaduna State, have called on the federal and state governments to do something to help reduce the sufferings Nigerians are currently facing.

They made the calls in an interview with newsmen in a message during Easter celebrations across churches in the Sabon Gari during prayers and programmes.

“Easter is one of the Holy Days of Christianity, which honors the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, three days after His death by crucifixion; and for many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful conclusion to the Lenten season of devoted prayers, fasting and penitence,” they said.

Mrs. Helen and Mr. Nduka, who are residents of Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna State, spoke about how they celebrated their Easter holiday – in low key.

The Bishop of Anglican Diocese in Sabo Gari Zaria, Rt. Rev. Ishaya G. Baba, the Overseer of Overcomers Bible Church Graceland, Sabon Gari, Reverend Dr Tunde Adeshina, and Venerable Dr. Adeshina Adeniyi of the First African Church Mission Sabon Gari also anchored the messages and explained the significance of the holy days to Christians.
