Labour Party (LP) governorship campaign council has expressed confidence for victory of its governorship candidates in March, 2023 governorship election in Kaduna State with optimism.
The Director-General (DG) of the Campaign Organisation, Hon. Tsahiru Bako, disclosed this Friday at a press briefing preparatory to the flagging-off of the governorship election campaign slated for next week Sunday in Zaria in Kaduna north.
The DG expressed assurance of the LP’s “landslide winning” of its governorship candidates, Hon. Jonathan Asake and his running mate, Bashir Aliyu, in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
He said, aside the educational qualification and experience of the LP party governorship candidate over opponents, victory of the Presidential candidate of the party at the national level would further broaden the chances and victory of LP’s governorship candidate in the state.
He noted that, “As a movement, the bandwagon effect, movement and support for the party had already begun longtime ago, with many young people and other big times politicians decamping to LP.”
According him, “LP is a movement and, just like nobody could stop wings from blowing Buhari to victory in 2015, nobody would stop wings from blowing Obi and Asake to victory as President and as Governor of Kaduna State this year.”
He also said that LP Governorship Candidate, Hon. Asake, is highly educated, with first and second degrees in physics and applied physics, and so is better positioned to manage the state to greater heights and love for all.
“Hon. Asake,” he stated, “was LG Sole Administrator, House of Representatives Member, lecturer, former President of Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU), among other laudable positions, and would use his wealth of experience to unite Kaduna, for development.”
He described establishment of LP as the luckiest party in the country, since Independence, saying, it started like her counterpart in Britain – with all indices of strongest party to beat.
The DG emphasized that, LP has structures across the state and all the 23 local governments together, with the young people that make up its organic structures, saying, anyone thinking of LP as having no structure is self-reception.
Accordingly, he reiterated that the first agenda of LP governorship candidate, Hon. Asake, among other things, would be to secure the state and rid it of insecurity in Birnin-Gwari, Southern Kaduna and others, as well eradicate corruption, amongst other ills.
