“My name is Tijani Babangida (MoN), ex-international and, presently, the president of Professional Football Association of Nigeria (PFAN).
“It’s not a surprise thing seen me at the event, because anything to do with football one is expected to be there, if invited. It’s always a welcome idea and development, where we can be able to come and ginger the younger ones and try to advise the Hon. Senator of the APC, who organized the event,” he said.
He also enjoined other politicians and governors to emulate the senatorial candidate and do other youth programs to help the younger ones not to be forgotten.
“Football is for the grassroots and youths. The moment you engage the youths’ programs, your name will go far and circulate. You can see the number of the people gathered, even though, it was not announced that we were coming yet. I advise other politicians and even governors to follow his footsteps.
During the opening match competition, two boys and two female players were picked by TJ Babangida, who said “An agent is having a program taking place outside the country, especially in Portugal, that would train them for better performance.
“He has an academy in Kaduna where he camps his players and play gains and try to see that he trains them to face even European players. I’m sure he will take these boys to the academy and train them. In football players, you try to discover and develop,” he said.
