Presidential candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, is winning an opinion survey by the Kano-based independent newspaper, Arewa Trust, with a very wide margin.
The introduction of the poll being monitored by our Kaduna correspondent says: “Arewa Trust Newspaper is conducting opinion poll among the big four presidential candidates in Nigeria on *who will you be voting for as President in 2023?*, Kindly click and share the below link to cast your vote.
The question being asked by the paper is: “Who will you be voting for as president in 2023”?
When the results were checked yesterday, Obi had taken a ‘seemingly unassailable lead,’ scoring 80.44% of the votes as at the close of voting on Monday, October 3.
Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was coming a distant second with 13,78% of the votes, with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) coming third with 3.11%.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) brought up the rear with only 2.67% of the votes cast.
We learnt from the reports that the result is consistent with those of previous polls by credible local and international organizations, which showed clearly in the lead as Nigeria counts down to the February 2023 presidential ballot.
These include the surveys by ANAP Foundation conducted by NOI Polls and the one by Bloomberg.
Obi’s campaign is being driven by Nigerian youths, who have embarked on series of massive “Obidient and Obi-Datti” rallies across the country.
Although, it was argued that women, who constituted the largest voter audience in Nigeria elections, are not social media friendly with survey.
