Terrorists have reportedly kidnapped a monarch in Kaduna a few hours after the Nigerian lawmakers passed a bill prohibiting Nigerians from paying ransoms in order to rescue their loved ones from terrorist groups.

The monarch, Mr. Ayuba Dodo Dakolo, who is the Dakacin Rijana Fadan Achi, was kidnapped in his farm located at Kurmin Dakolo in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A family source said the terrorists invaded the community early hours of Tuesday on motorbikes in their numbers, shooting sporadically before heading to kidnap Mr. Ayuba, alongside many others from their farm.

“They have already demanded money, which we cannot afford to pay. We pleaded with them not to harm him, while telling them we didn’t have that amount.

“However, the bandits demanded tramadol worth N50,000 along with petrol, motorbike tires, engine oil, recharge cards, food items, and bread worth hundreds of thousands of naira. The items on the list were contained in a compiled list sent to us by the bandits,” he added.

Kaduna State has become a terrorist den for the number of daily attacks on communities, killing and kidnapping innocent people, with a significant rise in displaced persons flooding into the state metropolis daily.

While filing these reports, Nigerian Police authorities have yet to confirm the incidents, as Daily Episode’s multiple calls to the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muhammad Jalige’s lines were not answered.
