…Says, she’ll not allow El-Rufai to go scot-free.

As the purported Kaduna ‘Sex Party’ Hotel building demolition legal tussle allegedly suffered abandonment due to lack of funds, the victim, Mrs. Aishatu Mercy Yakubu, has vowed that she will not allow all those involved in the cause of the demolition of her restaurant and crippled her only source and means of livelihood, go free.
Mrs. Yakubu, who made the assertion, while speaking to our correspondent, also said she’ll not let the governor of Kaduna State, Mall. Nasir El-Rufai, go free for ordering the demolition of her restaurant business under the mere allegation of “planning to host Sex Party” in the building in Kaduna.
Narrating the ugly situation to our correspondent with anger, Mrs. Yakubu lamented that she has never been invited by her lawyer to any court for sitting since it was reportedly filled in court in 2021.
She also expressed dismay that her lawyer, Barrister Samuel Atung, no longer pick her calls to even enable her enquire and know the state of matter with the case in court.
According to her, the last time she spoke with the lawyer smoothly was when Barr Atung told her the amount of money needed to file the case in court, and after he filled the case as claimed.
She said the lawyer, however, told her not to worry and promised to source for the funds from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) officials when she told him the ‘extremely poor state’ of her financial condition.
Mrs. Yakubu explained that, as at last count, she heard that Barr Atung got N750, 000 from Hon. Reps Yakubu Barde and N500,000 from the PDP through its spokesman, Ibrahim Kato, in order to file the case in court.
She also expressed dismay that even the N500,000 the lawyer promised to give her for the feeding of herself and her children when the monies would have been sourced, was not given to her.
“When the storey building I was operating my restaurant and lounge was demolished early on the fateful day, I did not remove anything; and I was not having any money on me because I was always putting the profits back into the business when the incident happened.
“And I told the lawyer all these, and he promised to assist me with at least N500,000, when he gets money from PDP for my up keeping and my children’s feeding, pending the time I’ll get something to do. But he did not give me anything when he got the money and, if I call, he won’t pick my call,” she stressed.
“People should help the voiceless. Journalists should help us follow up these kinds of oppression by people elected to protect the poor citizens. Femi Falana (SAN) wanted to help me through one Maxwell in Kaduna and even Barrister Balanson, because I don’t have money needed to fight the matter myself, but Barr Atung said he will handle it because he’s one that was handling the criminal case of the matter yet to be determined.
“I don’t know why judgment has not been passed even on the criminal case Atung is also handling, even though I’m not directly involved in that one but was all the time going to court even as witness,” she also narrated.
She, however, stated that a lady called her early January this year, saying they were in court for my case and wanted to know, if she was the rightful owner of the demolished building hosting my restaurant, and said no.
When contacted, through his mobile phone for clarification severally, Barr. Atung neither picked nor returned calls or replied SMS sent to him via his WhatsApp, which reads: “I’ve been calling, but you didn’t pick my calls. I actually called to find out from you, the latest on the purported sex party hotel building demolition court case between the State Government of El-Rufai.
“We were made to understand the case is suffering setback due to lack of funds. It is true or is progressing? If yes, when is the next sitting date and which particular court, Sir? Thanks and remain blessed. – Journalist with Daily times.”
