At the early hours of Sunday (26th December) suspected terrorists after a heavy gunfire gained entrance into the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Sum Pyem of Gindiri, in Mangu local government area of Plateau State and kidnapped HRH Charles Mato Dakat.
Meanwhile, the Plateau State Police Command through its spokesman, PPRO Ubah Gabriel Ogaba, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Jos, that, the Traditional Ruler was adopted by unknown gunmen, but the Command has mobilized its rescue team in search of the culprits, in order to rescue him.
The traditional ruler is the Sum Pyem of Gindiri of Mangu local government area of Plateau State, HRH Charles Mato Dakat.
Investigation revealed that, the suspected bandits stormed the traditional ruler’s residence at the early hours of Sunday in their numbers, during which some of them sustained gunfire injuries. Similarly, the spokesman of the Operation Safe Haven, Major Ishaku Takwa, also confirmed the incident, noting that troops at Gyambus have been mobilized to the area and are on the trail of the kidnappers.
