by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Bandits have killed Chairman of Lere local government area of Kaduna branch of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) because of a fracas over N20 million.

The LG Branch Chairman, Alhaji Dambardi, was reportedly killed Thursday for his inability to produce N20 million demanded by the bandits that invaded his residence around 12 am.

A press release, signed by Kaduna State chairman of the Association, Alhaji Haruna Usman Tugga, said Dambardi’s abductors killed him in the early hours of Thursday in his hometown, Lere.

“Kidnappers have killed the Chairman of Lere Local Government Branch of Miyyati Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi,” the release indicated.

Alhaji Tugga lamented that “The kidnappers demanded twenty million naira, but late Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi was only able to borrow up to two hundred and fifty thousand naira and gave them, but they were not satisfied and decided to kill him.

“They took him along Saminaka, Mari, Zango Highway and killed him there,” he said. “The state chairman appealed to Kaduna State Government and the Security Agencies to investigate and fish out the culprits, with immediate effect.”

Alhaji Haruna Usman Tugga described late chairman of the association in Lere Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Dambardi, as an ambassador of peace and tranquility among people of Lere Local Government and beyond.

“We have really lost a leader of high respect, who has been assisting the association in promoting harmony and coexistence among members,” Alhaji Tugga noted.

MACBAN Kaduna State condoled the family, members and friends of late Alhaji Dambardi and prayed Allah to grant him paradise and also give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
