PDP rejects Kaduna LG Polls results, accuses APC of falsification, ‘irrational’ allocating of results

by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna State, has raised alarm over alleged falsification of the Saturday local government council elections results by the All Progressives Congress (APC) party in the state, ahead of voting.

The party has already rejected the entire elections results before the conclusion of voting, adding that the electronic voting machines (EVM) used were preprogrammed to predetermine the election results in favour I’d APC.

PDP made the accusations in a press conference held on Saturday, long before the end of the conduct of the elections.

The spokesman of State PDP, Mr. Abraham Kato, who briefed the press, said APC has already allocated votes to themselves and printed the results even before the commencement of votes.

He mentioned some Local Government Areas where APC rigged the elections, including Barnawa and Kaduna North local government. According to PDP, the ruling party allocated 102 for itself and 18 for PDP in the place.

In the result sheet obtained from the PDP spokesman, on LG Chairman and councilor elections, all other parties scored zeros, while APC has 182, with PDP having 18 votes, respectively.

Our reporter, who monitored the elections, reported that there was high voter apathy, as the exercise was generally marred by low turnout of voters in most local government areas in the state.

It was also gathered that 7 persons suspected to be APC thugs were shot, while sharing same largesse at Kaduna Trade Fair complex Friday midnight.

A PDP stakeholder, Dr Abdulrahman Usman, in company of the party’s spokesman said the entire elections were fraudulently rigged with the preprogrammed EVM by Governor Nasir El-Rufai in connivance with the state Independence Electoral Commission officials.
