The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the Plateau State House of Assembly has called on the State Government to continuously implement resolutions and enforce relevant laws passed by House of Assembly, which are geared towards permanent peace in the State, considering the fact that peace is a panacea for development.
This was disclosed on Thursday during a press briefing at the NUJ press center Jos, while reacting to the passing of vote-of-confidence by the APC Stakeholders Meeting that was moved and seconded by two APC members of the House recently.
The members were led by Hon. Daniel Nanbol Listick, from Langtang North North constituency Information Desk Officer, who said, Government should be funding Operation Rainbow to enable them conduct 24/7 intelligence gathering, analysis and rapid response.
The nine members of the PDP urged the government to fund regular security meetings at different levels that will provide a platform to review critical issues and mitigate any form of crisis in Plateau State. “We throw our unshakable support towards strengthening Community Policing,” he said.
They acknowledged the effort of the governor for implementing some of the resolutions reached by PLHA in which he has identified with the people of Yelwa Zangam in Jos North local government area of the state.
Hon. Listick further explained that, Plateau State Government also paid a similar condolence visit to the Brra Ngew Irigwe, Reverend Ronku Aka, at Miango as part of PLHA resolution, and still called on the governor to also pay medical bills of Plateau citizens that were/are victims of these terror attacks.
They equally called on the governor to pay compensation to families that are directly affected in this year’s attacks and intensify strategy towards lasting peace in the State.
The members also called on the peace-loving and amiable citizens of the State to be law abiding, watchful, vigilant and report any suspicious attempt to security agencies.
