Following the challenges posed in the larger society by drugs and substance abuse, the Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Kaduna State Chapter, has completed plans to organize a seminar to deal with the menace.
A release jointly issued and signed by the association’s Chairman and Secretary Comrade Nicholas Dekera and Miss Mabel Ojibah, stated that the association is partnering with National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kaduna State Bureau for Substance Abuse Prevention (KADBUSA) and Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Kaduna to engage hundreds of youths from three Senatorial Districts of Kaduna State on dangers of drug and substance abuse.
The event, according to CAMPAN, is scheduled for Saturday, 21st August, 2021, at the Catholic Social Center along Independence Way, Kaduna.
“Effects of drugs and substance abuse have, over the years, affected creativity, productivity and worsened Nigeria’s security quagmire amidst poor morals,” it noted.
The association called on religious leaders and politicians in the state to make it a point of duty of campaigning against drugs and substance abuse, stressing that drugs-free life and society remains sacrosanct in nation building.
