Again Bandits Abduct Scores From Mission School in Kaduna

Bandits have continued to unleash terror on Kaduna, as suspected kidnappers stormed Bethel Baptist Mission School last night and packed unspecified numbers of students.

Eyewitness said the heavily-armed bandits invaded the school premises, located along Kachia- Kaduna highway, in the early hours of Monday and whisked them away into the nearby forest.

The school is located around Maraban Rrido, a few kilometers away from Kaduna Metropolis in Chikun local government area of the state.

Some residents told journalists that the bandits came in large numbers about 1pm and started shooting sporadically before forcibly moving the school students from their hostels to unknown destination.

Unverified report by residents also alleged that two security personnelm who attempted to stop the bandits from carrying out their dastard act, were fired at.

Contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, ASP Mohammed Jalige, could not respond till the time of filling this report.

The bandits reportedly broke into Faith Academy at Mararaban Rido same night before moving to Bethel School where they took some students away in the attack that lasted from 11pm to 4am.

The bandits, it was gathered, started shooting on getting to the Faith Academy, but could not find any student outside, before they moved to Bethel School, which is close by.

Findings revealed that there are more than five boarding schools around the area.
