An NGO, ‘Nigeria Poverty Alleviation Stipends’ (N-PAS), has supported no fewer than 845 farmers under the N-PAS Additional Financing Project in Kaduna State in the last 3 weeks within the months of May and June 2021.

Director and Chief Media Consultant of the N-PAS, Mr Mbaye Matthew Victor, made the disclosure in an interview recently with newsmen at Space 2000 Barnawa, Kaduna State.

Mr Victor, who arrived Kaduna State capital from Kafanchan, Jema’a LG, in collaboration with Africa Investors in Diaspora Association (AIDA) President, Dr Philemon Ibrahim Gora, in continuation of the exercise of his association, has set aside millions of naira to assist farmers and business entrepreneurs.

He said, the support for farmers and business entrepreneurs is a kind gesture of Dr Gora, who also is the initiator of N-PAS, to alleviate poor people from financial struggling and giving them opportunity to improve their businesses on profitable marketing.

Mr. Victor further stated that, currently, 275 of beneficiaries empowered last three weeks were women, youths and the elderly that were engaged in agriculture and other businesses.

“Similarly, from 2018, 2019 up to 2021, the project has made over 61,045 people happy,” urging that government should continue to support Dr Gora in reducing the gap between the rich and the less-privileged.

He also made reference to testimonies of beneficiaries and how disbursement of N43 million and other items were conducted before the media cameras for records purposes.

“The initiator of the N-PAS project and president of AIDA had also offered similar gestures in Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara State and other states of the federation,” Dr Gora stated.

Also in one of the interviews, Dr Gora stated that, in its effort to meet up with the project objective of providing employment for youths, his project has prepared a data-capturing information system to know areas of immediate need.

According to him, the project is to build the capacity of farmers to ensure more efficiency in production and keep the Nigerian youth busy.
