Following the attack and killing of 8 persons at the early hours of Saturday in one of the villages of Kuru at a mining site, close to Maraba Jama’a of Jos South local government area of Plateau State, Governor Lalong has asserted that, the state government would not condone or tolerate such attacks on innocent citizens.
Consequently, the governor has directed security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act, which is capable of disrupting the substantial peace prevailing in the State.
Reacting to the incident, the governor expressed sadness, and anger, over the attack on the mining site in Kuru, which left 8 people dead, describing the incident as another desperate attempt by criminals to destabilize the State and create fear among the people.
While commiserating with the families of those, who were killed and those, who sustained injuries the governor charged the security agencies to resolve such attacks, as excuses of ‘unknown gunmen’ will no longer be tolerated.
He equally called on the citizens to assist the law enforcement agencies with useful intelligence, leveraging on structures such as the Traditional Institutions, Community Police Constabulary, Vigilante Groups and other associations.
