Apparently disturbed over the increased rate of insecurity in the north, an angry mob of youths on Monday invaded Arewa House premises and disrupted press conference being addressed by Coalition of Northern Youth (CNY).
Eyewitness said the angry mob also attacked Arewa House properties and destroyed some for reasons yet to be ascertained at the time of filling the report.
The organizers of the press conference and journalists allegedly scampered for their safety and left the venue in different directions for fear of being attacked.
A reporter, who was at the venue of the media briefing, told our correspondent that the CNY mod attack may not be unconnected with the recent happening in Kankara Science Secondary School, Katsina state, where 333 students were reported kidnapped by bandits.
According to the source, the youth numbering at least 50, invaded the Arewa House, venue of the briefing, about 10 minutes after the commencement of the briefing.
Efforts to see leaders of the mod and that of the CNY proved abortive, as none could be reached for clarification, even as the Police Command spokesman, Muhammad Jalige, could not respond, in order to clarify the issue.
