The Second Republic governor of Kaduna State and founding member of People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Alhaji Balarabe Abdulkadir Musa, is dead.
Balarabe Musa’s demise was announced on Wednesday morning by a leading member of his party, Senator Shehu Sani.
Musa, a left-wing politician, was elected governor of Kaduna during the Second Republic. He held office from October 1979 until he was impeached on 23 June, 1981. Born 21 August 1936, the elder statesman died in Kaduna at 84.
Our correspondent reported that late Balarabe Musa was contacted twice on phone for interview on his comments on the last Nigeria’s 61st Independence Anniversary and #EndSARS Protests, respectively, but declined, on ground of ill health.
