The Jos Polo Club has crowned Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state as its patron. The investiture took place recently at the Jos Polo ground recently.
At the event, which held at the Polo Club in Jos, the president of the club, Alhaji Murtala Laushi, said the investiture of the governor was in recognition of his enormous contributions to the development of sports in general and polo in particular.
Accepting the investiture, Governor Simon Lalong said he will continue to support the growth of the game in the state, and assured that the polo club will be rehabilitated very soon, as the government has made arrangements to get a permanent venue for Trade Fair, which usually held at the polo field.
In the same vein, the governor commended NASCO Group of companies for continued sponsorship of polo game as well as many other causes in the state.
He also performed the symbolic planting of trees to promote the campaign for forestation.
An anniversary cake to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Nigeria was also cut at the event by the Governor and Executive Chairman of NASCO Group, (Dr) Attia Nasreddin.
