Senator representing Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has given an undisclosed sum of money to a 45year old widow as support to alleviate the untold suffering the mother of 8 children was going through.
The Senator on Tuesday, in Kaduna state, made the cash donation to the widow, Jummai Haruna, to take care of her sick children.
It was reliably gathered that Mrs Haruna, who is a resident of Hayin Nariya, Kaduna north local government area, has sold her property to take care of the sick children.
Sani, who was represented by his personal assistant, Suleiman Ahmed, noted that the widow had already sold out her door at N1,500, in order to take care of her sick children before the gesture arrived.
Speaking during the presentation of the cash, the Personal Assistant to Senator Shehu Sani said there are numbers of Nigerians, who are suffering same fate and, who are dying of hunger; and therefore called on the government to review and reconsider opening the borders so that it will balance the hiked prices of food items.
He equally lamented the failure of government in many areas, especially in terms of infrastructure, economic development and other aspects of life.
He also lamented the spate of insecurity bedeviling the country, adding, “Insecurity has become overwhelmed that every Nigerian is afraid, irrespective of your position.”
Ahmed called on nation’s leaders and well meaning citizenry to give support to people around their areas, especially in this time of hardship currently ravaging nations across the globe.
In appreciation, Mrs Haruna sincerely thanked Shehu Sani and prayed to God to guide him and his family.
