…Says, “Visa bans will protect democracy in Nigeria.”

The sanction extension of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state by the United States of America has vindicated Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, a member of the Bar has revealed.
The senior member of the Bar, who did not want his name in print for security reasons, disclosed this in Kaduna on Tuesday, while reacting to the visa bans and sanction extension on the governor and four other notable Nigerians.
He said the sanction extension of the governor and four others, all of the All Progressive Congress, APC, stalwart, showed that the NBA is conscientious, credible and a reputable association to reckoned with.
“NBA is unbiased, reputable and demonstrated as a credible association Nigerians can reckon with, especially under the present leadership of Barrister Akpata.”
According to the lawyer, who repeatedly pleaded anonymity, “NBA would remain unbiased umpire when it comes to matters of serious national conscience and law and, therefore, should be devoid from politicking in matters affecting human rights and justice system in the country and, indeed, from any other association when it comes to protecting the human rights generally,” he added.
He also noted that the US visa bans on those personalities, published in an online media, are in the best interest of the democracy devoid of abysmal election rigging, corruption and respect for the rule law.
It’s recalled that NBA overwhelmingly voted against Governor El-Rufai’s nomination to present apaper in the last national conference, which resulted to serious national outrage within the ranks and files of the law associations.
