Kaduna state’s House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Mr Isaac Auta, has called for cooperation and peaceful coexistence among law makers for development of the state.
Mr Auta, who is representing Jawain constituency, disclosed this, while speaking with Assembly correspondents in an interview in his office in Kaduna, said that his intention at the Assembly is to contribute his quota to human development, promote democracy and give contributions to peaceful coexistence that would engender development and progress in the state.
He also assured his commitment in ensuring that the House has harmonious working relationship among its members as well as take part in the law-making in the Assembly.
“It’s also to make sure I give effort to reducing rancor between three tiers of government executive, legislative and judiciary, so that we can co-manage governance and give the best to our people.
“This I will do by seeking cooperation and peaceful coexistence among members of the Assembly as a principal officer deputizing for my principal, the Speaker of the House.”
He said he would work in collaboration with other members of the House to come up with new measures that would enhance the performance of the members for positive development in the state.
“We will equally give priority to supporting the executive in achieving the laudable projects put in place for greater Kaduna.
“We will do nothing less than to support him, especially when he sends executive bills: we will make sure we work on them and ensure they are passed into law within the shortest period of time, to enable him achieve what is desired in all of the bills,” he added.
The Deputy Speaker also stated that, his commitment will in addition be geared towards ensuring that committees are functioning effectively.
“We will not want, for any reason, to delay any bill at all, because we know that it’s intended to strengthen governance. We as honourable members, we are here for a purpose and we know the purpose; we will do nothing less than to work hard to make sure we achieved as a government,” the Deputy Speaker noted.
He said that the Speaker of the Assembly is also working very hard to ensure the House has harmonious working relationship.
