The Kaduna State House of Assembly member, Elder Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, who was previously tested positive to Covid19, is now declared “negative” to the virus.

While making a statement on the development, Shadalafiya revealed that, “On Saturday, 26th July, 2020, my second sample was taken for test and the result came out today, Wednesday 29th, and it was negative,” he said.

“My people of Kagarko Constituency, I bring you greetings and good tidings of love and appreciation for your steadfast and fervent prayers, when I tested positive for Covid-19 to this point of recovery,” he noted.

He disclosed this in a statement personally signed by him and made available to media men in Kaduna.

According to him, the team of medical officials at the isolation centre gave him a clean mark to be discharged.

“In view of the above, I want to thank the Almighty God for preserving me and my wife, who was by me all through, and tested negative twice. To Him be the Glory.

“To the team of medical personnel, I remain indebted to you for your time to each details and commitment to deal with Covid-19. God will reward your labour of love to humanity,” the lawmaker added.

Shadalafiya referred to Governor Nasir el-Rufai as “a leader and father that all can hold and trust; he gave all he has to fight the virus, raising from leadership, funds, guidance and direction, which results to people being healed,” he said, and prayed for God to bless and keep the governor for putting smiles on faces of several families.

He also thanked leadership of the state House of Assembly, under Rt. Hon. Speaker Yusuf Zailani, colleagues, management and staff of the Assembly for their contributions, and urged all of them to unite for progress and development of the state.

Elder Shadalafiya expressed delight over his recovery, saying, “Today I’m out of the Isolation Center and will look forward to town hall meetings with my constituency on how to keep our people free and safe of this dreaded virus and many other developmental issues,” he noted.

While appreciating his wife for the sacrifice to stay in the isolation centre with him, he said “the media remain the hope of the voiceless,” and urged them to keep educating and enlightening the public on the dangers and need to observe social distancing, washing of hands with soap and water, wearing of face-masks and use of hand sanitizers.

The lawmaker, however, congratulated the Muslim faithful and wished them “Barka da Sallah” as well as encouraged people in the state to observe the state’s Covid-19 protocol for a hitch-free celebration.

It would be recalled that, Elder Shadalafiya on Friday the 17th of July, 2020, invited the NCDC to come and take a COVID-19 test on him, his wife, his aide and that of his brother; and the results came out on Sunday, 19th July, which revealed that, while others were negative, himself tested positive to the virus and he was, consequently, rushed to the Isolated Centre.
