A Kaduna State House of Assembly member representing Kagarko Constituency, Elder Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya, is confirmed to have been tested positive to coronavirus.
According to a statement signed by the lawmaker, he had earlier requested test from the NCDC for the COVID-19, and when the result came out he was tested positive and is presently at the Isolation Centre, Kaduna.
“My respected constituents, on Friday the 17th of July, I invited the NCDC to come and take my COVID-19 test and they came. And I requested them to take my sample, that of my wife, my aide and that of my brother. And the result came out on Sunday, 19th July, and others were negative except mine, which was positive.
“I was immediately moved to the Covid-19 isolation center, where I am presently receiving treatment. I’m stable and on medication,” the statement stated.
The statement reiterated his responsibilities as the elected representative member to inform and urge his people and the state as whole to obey the protocol on Covid-19 protection measures by observing social distancing, wearing of face-marks, washing of hands regularly with soap and water or use of hand sanitizers, or stay home, if you have no reason to go out, and stay safe.
Furthermore, in the statement, Shadalafiya called on the people of Kaduna state to support Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s efforts in the direction listed above, in order to have a hitch-free Corona Sallah celebration.
The lawmaker also solicited for prayers for himself and others at centre for speedy recovery.
