The Nasarawa State Governor, Adulahi Sule, has emerged as the Chairman North Central Governors’ Forum, at a meeting held at the Nasarawa State Lodge, in Asokoro, Abuja.
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, also participated in the meeting of the North Central Governors’ Forum, where issues of security, economic prosperity and subsidy removal were discussed.
Barr. Mutfwang strengthened his determination to work for the peace, unity and progress of Plateau, North Central and Nigeria as a whole.
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, who briefed journalists after the meeting, said “The governors have resolved to work in unison to fight the ravaging insecurity in the North Central zone and to initiate policies that will cushion the effects of the subsidy removal on the people.
“We deemed it necessary to come together as a region to discuss issues of common interest for the advancement of the North Central zone, ranging from security, infrastructure and economic prosperity.”
He said the governors pledged to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Federal Government for the development of the nation.
“We are working not only as a region but with the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come up with ways of ameliorating the suffering of Nigerians generally,” he said.
Barr. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, who also spoke to newsmen, expressed his determination to work for the peace, unity and progress of citizens in Plateau, the North Central zone and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Mutfwang had earlier joined his counterparts at a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa.
