Labour Party (LP) has again restated confidence in the victory of the governorship election of the party in Kaduna State and other states in northern region.

Kaduna State chairman of the party, Hon. Auwal Tafoki, who gave the confidence in a chat with our correspondent on assessment of the party’s campaign rallies in the northern parts of the state, revealed that LP supporters would triple when Peter Obi is declared winner of presidential election.

Hon. Tafoki, who was particularly happy with the courtesy call on Emir of Zazzau, HRH Amb. Nuhu  Bamali, Chairman Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Prof. Ango Abdullahi, amongst others, said even though they were not categorical, “there was light in the tunnels and high hope.”

He also expressed assurance in the bandwagon effect, which he said has already began to manifest with the huge underground support the party reportedly enjoyed during governorship campaign in Zaria, adding that “LP supporters will be more when Peter Obi is declared winner of presidential election in February, 2023.”

According to him, the bandwagon effects “is a sure banker, in the sense that, every part of the state and business community would want to be associated with victory instead of remaining in the failed opposition.”

He said movement to victory party by opposition is always much more pronounced and common in the northern states than in any other parts of the country, adding, “Kaduna Guber candidate would emerge victorious in March Governorships election in like manner.”

“The last lap of the campaign would be married with the sensitization of members and supporters on the monitoring of the BiVAS before commencement of vote cast on 25th February election,´ the chairman stated, after Abuja meeting.

According to him, sensitization of electorates on vote-buying among supporters and ineffectiveness of the sale of PVC, as assured by the election umpire would continue to be projected and assessed during the last lap of their campaigns.
