In what would have been described as bloody clash and thugs war was on Monday averted, partly owing to the overwhelming presence of security operatives at the venue of the bye election of Kaduna central senatorial primary election of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Our correspondent, who monitored the scenario, reported that the thugs loyal to supporters of the winner of the bye election, Ibrahim Usman, came on motorcycles and were all stationed directly opposite the main gate to the bye election venue.
According to our reporter, immediately the supporters of the defeated candidate, Lawal Adamu Usman, who came in three Bus Town Services, were out of the premises, the thugs verbally attacked them in Hausa Language, telling them that Ibrahim Usman, aka Sardaunan Badarawa, has won the election and, “That’s it; nothing they can do about.”
The supporters ignored and advanced towards their buses to move out of the venue, but one of the thugs, stationed on the other side of the road, also made some move but stopped, apparently for fear of the stern-looking populated security operatives.
Looking back-and-front, Mr. La’ah’s supporters reluctantly later left in their buses, as the thugs grumbled within themselves in anger but maintained their station, with the securities keeping a hard watch on them.
The incident, which occurred along Ibrahim Yakowa Road during the repeated bye election, however, led to insult by thugs on the supporters of Lawal Adamu, who later left in their bus convey towards Kaduna main town.
Recall that, Ibrahim Usman emerged a landslide winner of the bye election of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna Central Senatorial primaries held on Monday, and no casualties were, however, reportedly recorded from the thugs’ incident.
