The Plateau State’s One-million March for Peter Obi and Datti support groups on Saturday proved an enigmatic point by holding the State capital to a standstill at the early hours of Saturday.
The One-Million March supporters groups assembled at the State Secretariat Overhead Bridge at about 9am where motorists flying the road were gridlocked.
The March, which started at about 10/11am, took the whole day, from Secretariat Junction to Bukuru, round to Langfiled, Little Rayfiled.
The Youths supporters of Peter Obi, under the aegis of “New Nigeria Movement for Peter Obi,” were from the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State and were not only youths that held the One-Million March for Peter Obi, the Presidential flag-bearer of Labour Party, in Jos.
Some people, who spoke to our correspondent, narrated that, the outing was not yet a campaign but a “show of solidarity” organized by the youths “without sponsorship” ahead of the commencement of proper campaign for the 2023 general elections.
They said, the march commenced at the Overhead Bridge of the State Secretariat, led by the popular Prophet Isa El-Buba, who encouraged the youths to “know their course and reason for the solidarity and refuse to be distracted.”
According to them, though Peter Obi was not around but the youths, out of love and solidarity sponsored themselves to ensure the march was successful.
Our correspondent also learnt that, all were volunteers, who gave their cars to convey youths from the 17 Local Government Areas to Jos metropolis, while some bought fuel for the conveyance of the participants and drinks, just for the solidarity.
Also on the same day, ahead of 2023 General Election in Nigeria, Founder of Ebomi Ministry, Isa EL-Buba, said the decision taken by them to support Obi, aka ‘Obedient,’ was because they are tired of what he termed as “recycling politicians,” who have brought nothing to the table for good governance, than hardship and insecurity, which has reduced Nigeria significantly in Comity of Nations.
He said, “Voters are the majority in taking political decisions, and through ballot boxes will take over the government in 2023. We can no longer stand and fold our arms watching why our children are out of school and are being massacred daily by the militias imported into the country.”
Isa EL-Buba added that, they are going to devote their resources, time and other legitimate means to ensure they actualize these goals, assuring that before Nov, 2023, the supporters of Obi in the state will hit 40 million, adding that, his office door or residential home is not open to any other candidates for presidential ambition except Peter Obi.
He also urged the people to vote wisely and cast their votes for Peter Obi for president and vote for any trustworthy candidate for Governorship and other positions, irrespective of party affiliations, and charged them to avail themselves for training and retraining for the task ahead, after which they will be deployed to fight for Labour Party, an action devoid of violence.
He raised alarm over move by some desperate politicians and persons at the corridor of power to negotiate his support for the candidature of Labour Party, Peter Obi, saying, no amount of money, threats or intimidation will make him to renegade his unalloyed moral support for Mr Peter Obi towards his presidential ambition, come 2023 General Elections.
Isa EL-Buba was speaking to a large crowd, who attended the Peter Obi One-Million-man March, held at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos, Plateau State, over the weekend.
According to him, his decision to support the Igboman-born Presidential Candidate is based on personal conviction that, enough is enough for the bad government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party that has brought nothing but hunger, insecurity and bad governance to the generality of the country.
He further urged the Obi supporters to be proactive, because there is still a lot of work to be done; that they should not allow anybody, whom he described as “selfish desire,” to stand with them in this journey of self-determination.
He further assured that, his family and himself “decided to embarked on this dangerous journey not for my sake, but for the interest of the vulnerable Nigerians, who have been politically shortchanged, occasioned by the government of APC.
Isa El-Buba assured that, all the Middle-Belt votes will go to Peter Obi but not to any other candidate contesting the same position with Obi.
