Orphanage Home gulps annual N12 million for orphans in Gombe State

by Christiana Gokyo, Jos

The chairman of an orphanage home (Da’awa Orphanage), Dr. Babayo Kolo, says it spends the sum of N12 million annually in catering for its orphans, urging that it needs assistance to sustain the gesture.

Conversely, the chairman has appealed to the State Government and wealthy individuals to support them through financial contributions.

Dr. Kolo was speaking during their management periodic evaluation meeting, held recently in Gombe, when he also revealed that they are planning to build Islamiyya classes for the benefit of orphans and vulnerable children.

He equally commended one Dr. Bala Bello Tinka for taking care of their staffs’ monthly salaries, and asked other philanthropists to also support them in other aspects.

Conscience Triumph gathered that, Da’awa Orphanage (located at Tumfure Community of Gombe State) was established on the 6th of February, 2011, with eight orphans, and now has 63 (made up of boys and girls).

Speaking also, an official in the orphanage, Mrs Zainab Adamu Abubakar, appealed to the State Government to provide a health facility in the orphanage home.
