Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has issued a seven days’ quit notice to occupants of Sabon Tasha popular market.
A statement by the Director-General of KASUPDA, Ismaila U. Dikko, advised those occupying the market to remove their valuables and vacate within seven days, warning that failure to comply with the directives would leave the authority with no option than to remove the structures at their expense, in line with Sections 60(2) & 62 of the State Urban and Regional Law No. 31 of 2018 and Kaduna Master Plan Law, 2016. The quit notice is dated 12th May, 2022.
“In line with the Ongoing Urban Renewal Program within the metropolis and the need to upgrade/re-develop some critical infrastructures, part of which is the redevelopment of Sabon Tasha Market.
“Consequently, you are to remove your valuables and vacate the site within 7 days of this notice. Failure to comply with the above directives will leave the Authority with no option than to remove the structures at your expense, in line with Sections 60(2) & 62 of the aforementioned Law/Kaduna Master Plan Law, 2016.
Sabon Tasha Market is located along Kachia Road in Chikun LGA.
