2023: I’ll put Nigeria first, stop excess borrowing, fix insecurity, revive textiles – Sen. Saraki

by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, on Sunday stormed Kaduna State as part of the consultation tour for his 2023 presidential ambition.

Saraki, who was at the state secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in company of his campaign team, told the delegates and supporters that he will put Nigeria first, stop excess borrowing of foreign loan and insecurity ravaging the country.

He said, as Senate President he stood for Nigeria against what he termed as ‘frivolous loans’ of federal government against all threats, and would do it again with support of Nigerians, if elected president of the country.

He also said Nigerian children will be allowed to go to their schools to study without hindrance, have access to good medical facility, as a medical doctor, adding that quality leadership required someone, who is educated and energetic to be able to lead the country better.

According to him, unity of purpose of the country would be a major priority of his administration, without which there could be no meaningful progress and development.

He also reiterated that his administration will not rest until insecurity in the northeast and other parts of the country are over, so the people can go back to their farms.

Saraki also promised to revive the textile industries, adding that during their time as a banker, Kaduna was their town because of the textiles and petrochemical company, adding that as a middle-aged man from the central part of the country, he stands a better chance to foster everlasting unity of the people of Nigeria.

The Kaduna PDP executive members, led by Hon. Felix Hassan Hyet, acknowledged Senator Saraki as former Senate President and pledged party support for his ambition.
