The Plateau State Police Command has arrested the murderer of Miss Jennifer Anthony, a 3000-level student of University of Jos, whose lifeless body was found mutilated on 1st January, 2022 at Damus Pacis Gusest House Jos, by a man named Moses Oko, age 20 years old.
The 20 years’ old suspected to be her boyfriend, immediately fled after committing the crime, but the Police Command launched an aggressive manhunt on the suspect and tactically trailed him to Benue State where he was arrested by “hawked-eye” Police operatives and of the Command.
Briefing newsmen in Jos on Wednesday at the Plateau State Police Command by the Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew N. Onyeka, he said the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.
The Police Command paraded about 28 suspects before newsmen with different offences, which include kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms, culpable homicide, suspected cultists, criminal conspiracy, trespass and armed robbery, and arrest of dreaded cultists and recovery of dangerous weapons, including locally made pistol, charms and other illicit drugs.
CP Onyeka equally affirmed that those, who kidnapped the wife of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the State Government, Mrs Dorcas Vem, and the Director Ministry of Health, Dr. Samuel Audu, were also arrested.
He advised members of the public to report any suspicious movement(s) and persons to the police and other law enforcement agencies to help nib crimes in the bud.
The PC also called on all residents of the state to coordinate and synergize with the police by giving them timely and useful information, in order to fight all forms of criminalities.
He assured that the Command is prepared to respond within a reasonable time whenever it receives a distress call.
