The GOC/Comd, Maj-Gen IS Ali, says the Operations Planning Cadre was organised to improve the professional efficiency and harmonise relationship between the NA and other stakeholders in improving security in 3 Division Area of Responsibility.
According to him, the training week would also afford officers the opportunity to contribute to topical issues in line with the COAS vision, which is to have a professional NA ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in defence of Nigeria.
He was speaking at the 3 Division Operation Planning Cadre hosted by 301 AR (GS) held at International Hotel Gombe, in Gombe State, recently.
He said, the training cadre would help in improving the skills and techniques of junior and middle-level officers in a joint and single-service operations planning process.
Major-General Ali noted that the Nigerian Army as a stakeholder in the nation’s development has a responsibility to proffer solutions to the challenges confronting the nation, especially in the security realm.
While declaring the training open, the Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, called on the Nigerian Army to be resolute, focused and determined in dealing with emerging security challenges confronting the nation.
While commending the Nigerian Army for its efforts in maintaining security in the state, the governor urged them not to rest on its oars in ensuring the tackling of challenges facing security in the country.
Earlier, the GOC had paid a courtesy visit on the governor in his office at Government House Gombe, where he thanked the governor for his support to the Nigerian Army.
The governor also appreciated the Army for the visit and pledged his continued support to the NA to overcome the state’s security challenges.
