The Assistant Corps Marshal, Wobin Ayuba Gora, of RS 4 Headquarters, has asserted that, Road Safety is everyone’s business, because the Corps Marshal can’t be everywhere.
Speaking at NUJ Press Center on a courtesy call on Tuesday, Wobin Gora said he was at the NUJ to seek collaboration and synergy with journalists, if he must achieve any meaningful development, noting that, “You must deal with Press.”
According to him, he has enjoyed a lot of programmes and good relationship working with journalists, and assured of making sure that the nation’s roads are safe, adding that, “So many things have been put in place for our roads to be safe.”
The Assistant Corps Marshal revealed that, “Crashes have reduced on our roads. It is my prayer to see a zero-crash in Nigeria. There are 3 major causes of crashes: one of which is human factor.”
He assured that, he would do everything possible to educate and enlighten the public on the danger and safety for road users by continuing to educate them even in Churches and Mosques.
He also stated that, the command has done a lot to make sure crashes are reduced in this year’s movement for travelers, adding that the state has already flagged-off its ‘Ember’ month, but it’s the units that are doing their own now.
Responding, the NUJ Chairman, Mr. Paul Jatau, assured him of working together with the Road Safety and would do everything possible as a Union to contribute by enlightening the public to get to the zero-crash.
