Police detain man who exposed Gloria Okolie’s ‘unlawful detention’

by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Mr. Izuchukwu Okeke, a fellow Nigerian, who exposed the Nigeria Police Force over the enslavement, abuse and unlawful detention of Glory Okolie, has since been detained unlawfully at an unknown location by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

Unofficial reports, however, revealed that Okeke is being detained at the IRT Rogue Unit, according to activists’ social media postings.

Recalled that, FCT High Court granted bail to Gloria Okolie, who was detained for months without the consent of family members on trumped-up allegation of “romancing with IPOB” in Abuja.

Court had ordered Nigeria Police Force to charge her to court on or before August 31st or be granted bail in sum of N2m, and a Level 12 officer as bond and surety.

Social media is already awash with aggressive pressure group describing the actions of the police as impunity and calling for his immediate release.

Some of the statements in the social media, among others, include: “Let’s fight for his release! #RevolutionNow #freegloryokolie #FreeIzuchukwuOkeke. Others are “Good job Samuel Ihensekhien and Harrison Gwamnishu, Addendum, respectively, for their good work.”
