…Speaker visits Palace, Mourns Late Sa Gbagyi.

Formerly and originally known as “Sa Gbagyi I,” the Paramount Ruler of Gbagyi Chiefdom in Kaduna State, Dr Danjuma Barde, HRH (now Etsu Chikun), is dead. His death occurred on Wednesday, 21st July, 2021.
The Chairman Northern Speakers and Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, has already condoled the family over the his demise.
The Speaker expressed deep sadness over the demise of His Royal Highness, Dr Danjuma Barde, the Etsu Chikun.
A statement signed by Speaker’s SA Media and Publicity, Hon. Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, dated Wednesday, July 21, 2021, said the First-class traditional ruler died in the early hours of Wednesday.
It explained that during a condolence visit to the late traditional ruler’s palace,” he consoled the traditional council, his family, friends and the government and people of Kaduna State.
“I am deeply saddened by the demise of the Etsu Chikun, who has provided exemplary leadership and worked with dedication to promote integration among the diverse population of the Chiefdom,” Zailani said.
He also explained that the elevation of HRH Dr Danjuma Barde to First-class status was announced in November, 2018, in recognition of his contribution to peace and harmony.
“He was once a member of Kaduna State House of Assembly during the era of former Governor Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi’s administration,” the statement added. The Speaker prayed for the repose of his soul, saying, “May the good Lord grant him eternal rest,” he prayed.
