During the week (Thursday night), gunmen attacked the Jos Aviation Quarters at Haipang area of Barkin-Ladi local government area of Plateau State North Central Nigeria and abducted a house wife.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen gained entrance to the quarters at about 8:15 pm and started shooting sporadically.

Three persons were initially kidnapped, including a wife and her husband. Fortunately (on one hand), the husband and other staffs were later able to struggle their way to freedom. Unfortunately (on the other hand), the gunmen took away the woman. At the time of filing this report, efforts to reach security agencies had been abortive.

In another development, the zone four command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps comprising of Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States, has called on all road users and transport operators within the zone to abide by Traffic Rules and Regulations as well as Covid-19 protocols during the Easter period or risk arrests and prosecution.

The Zonal Commanding Officer Rs 4 Assistant Corp Marshall, Kayode Olagunju, gave the warning in a statement signed by the Acting Public Education Officer, Olusegun Owoeye, in Jos the Plateau State capital, to herald the commencement in the zone of the Nationwide Easter Special Patrol Operation.

According to him, the aim was to ensure sanity and prevent deaths and injuries on the road during the festive period.

He added that the command was poised to reduce road traffic crashes and fatalities as citizens celebrate Easter, stressing that, the Zonal Commander has directed strict enforcement to traffic laws to include setting up mobile courts to try erring traffic offenders.
