Kaduna community flees homes as bandits abduct 14 women

Barely 24 hours after the massacre of nineteen people in Kutemeshi in Birnin-Gwari local government area of Kaduna state by bandits, people of Saulawa community have fled their homes in numbers.

About 20 killometers from Dogon Dawa, people of Saulawa community reportedly fled their homes as a result of attack and abduction of 14 women on Saturday.

An eyewitness, who captured the video of those fleeing women, children and aged persons, told our reporter that the exodus took place around 4:30 in the evening of Monday.

“Saulawa community is a distance of about 20 kilometers from Dogon Dawa,” the eyewitness said, adding that “The people are fleeing their abode as a result of sthe attack and abduction of 14 women on Saturday.

“There was a video capture around 4.30 by locals this evening at Dogon Dawa. They captured mass exodus of women and children from Saulawa to various places as refugees.” 

When contacted on phone, a victim refugee, Maillam Maharazu Saulawa, whose contact number was provided but could not go through. Our correspondent was, however, told that the refugees were heading towards Funtua area of Katsina state.
