Abducted Kankara Science Secondary School boys have regained freedom from their abductors amidst jubilations across the state.
Katsina State Government authoritatively said hundreds of the students abducted from Science Secondary School Kankara, Kankara local government area of Katsina State have been released.
The Government of Katsina state is yet to disclose how much money was paid as intervention for the quick release, a source, however, said heavy ransom in the range of billions of naira was committed to project the students.
The State Governor, Aminu Masari, who confirmed the release of the students on Thursday, a week after they were kidnapped by gunmen in their school, said the boys are presently safe in Tsafe, a local government area in Zamfara State.
Governor Masari, however, said that the boys would be brought to Katsina to ascertain their health status before handing them over to their parents.
