In the preparation to enter into the second face of Covid-19, media practitioners in the country have been called upon to play very critical roles in educating and enlightening Nigerians on the need to stick to Covid-19 protocols.
This was contained in a communiqué jointly signed by Dr. James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa, who are co-Executive Directors of Interfaith Mediation Centre, Kaduna State, issued at the end of a monthly forum organized by the centre on Tuesday in Kaduna.
The meeting also noted that as Nigeria is going to enter the second wave of Covid-19, people must learn to use face masks regularly, hand sanitizers and observing physical distances so as to protect themselves and the general public.
They urged the media practitioners in Nigeria to shun sensationalism, while educating and sensitizing Nigeria on the second wave of the Covid-19.
The communiqué also appealed to state governments in the country to always give the media accurate facts about the Covid-19 pandemic, so as to avoid bias during their reportage.
