Plateau state government has revealed that, the sum of N16.446,960,604.99 billion Internal Generation Revenue in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarter Performances has been generated.
The State’s Board of Internally Generated Revenue chairman, Mr. Aralat Dashe, disclosed this on Tuesday during their third quarter media briefing on the performances of the service on revenue generation held at the Board Room in Jos the state capital.
According to him, the service was able to generate N7,203,329,641.61 in first quarter (January, February, March); N2,196,735,606.1, in its second quarter (April, May, June) as a result of COVID-19.
He said, in the third quarter (July, August, September) it has N7,046,895,357.27 IGR, respectively.
The chairman noted that deliberate measures were taken to enable the service surpass its target of N16 billion in the 2020 appropriation budget earlier on signed by Governor Simon Lalong with an increment of N500 million.
He explained that some of the measures taken, such as the enhanced data collection across the state and the aggressive enforcement of tax defaulters, between January to March this yea,r amongst others, has contributed to the landmark achievements recorded by Service.
“Between January and March, 2020 alone, the Service embarked on aggressive tax audit and investigation of all organizations in and outside Plateau state, recording remarkable recovery of over N3.8 billion from Federal MDAs alone,” he stated.
He narrated that the Board is working hard to continuously embark on ways to ensure effective compliance of individuals, corporations and government agencies, which could lead to establishment of huge liabilities of at least N30 billion.”
