Chairman, Management Committee of Jos North local government, Shehu Bala Usman, has reiterated his administration’s commitments to cooperate with the state government to maintain clean and healthy environment in the area.
The chairman stated this, while monitoring the monthly sanitation exercise in the area over the weekend.
The monitoring of the sanitation exercise took the chairman and his team to Bauchi Ring Road, Ahmadu Bello and Murtala Muhammed Way, Bukuru Park and West of Mines, as well as Gada Biyu.
It would be recalled that, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state had in August, 2020, resuscitated the monthly sanitation exercise in the state.
Following the directive, the management committee chairman of Jos North local government, in company of his management team, said his administration will not tolerate any person or organization, who disregards the state government’s order on the monthly sanitation exercise.
The chairman commended Governor Lalong for the step taken in resuscitating the monthly sanitation exercise as a measure to maintain clean and hygienic environment in Plateau state.
Shehu Usman called on all and sundry in the area to always comply with the government directives by cleaning their environment and clearing drainages, which he said, “is for the good of all citizens.”
All defaulters, who were apprehended, pleaded with the chairman for clemency and assured him of their total commitments to observe every monthly sanitation exercise as reintroduced by the state government.
The chairman seized the opportunity to appeal to the good people of the area to follow the safety protocols of COVID-19 pandemic that is ravaging humanity globally.
