A 40 million naira plant has been built for the installation of a new KBA RAPIDA 105 Digital Printing Machine (German-built) at the Plateau Printing Press by the Plateau state government.
Commissioner of Information and Communications for the state, Hon Dan Manjang, disclosed that, the administration remains committed to ensuring “prudent and judicious utilization” of government assets and resources.
The commissioner commended Governor Simon Lalong for releasing funds towards the development of the printing press and called on staff of the press to work hard and put in their best when the place becomes fully operational, while asserting that, “Having an effective printing press will help protect confidentiality of government’s documents.”
The Printer at the Government Printing Press, Bolus Goshit, appreciated government for the effort being made in reviving the press, pointing out that that has been their prayer, as the machine has been idle for quite some time.
He said, four staffs of the press have been selected for training on the technical knowledge after full installation of the machine.
The installator of the equipment, from Exact Solution Lagos, Engineer Chima Chukwu, assured of the durability of the machine, if properly maintained and handled.
It could be recalled that the printing machines were bought by the previous administration of Governor Jonah Jang and, since then, has not been put to use.
