The Member representing Plateau State’s Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon, has distributed Bajaj motorcycles to District Palaces of Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South local government areas of Plateau State, in order to ease the mobility challenges being faced by staff of traditional rulers.
Legislative Aide and DG to the federal lawmaker, Hon. Davou Dung Davou, who presented the motorcycles, said the gesture was aimed at addressing the mobility problems encountered by the staff of the Traditional Rulers in conveying official communications and other activities of the palaces that need mobility.
While urging the beneficiaries to put the items to use to serve the intention for which they were given, Hon. Davou commended the traditional rulers for the roles they are playing in fostering unity, peace building and engendering transformation in their respective domains.
He promised to remain focused in providing credible and effective representation to the people through people-oriented legislation and projects.
“We are committed to identifying the plights of our people and doing our best to address them,” he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Traditional Rulers, former Deputy Chairman of Jos South LGA, Hon. Bitrus Dalyop Pam, Hon. Yakubu Julius Chollom, Hon. Dama Song and Hon. John Mancha all applauded the humanitarian gesture of the legislator, describing it as commendable and aimed at addressing the need at the various traditional palaces.
They commended the lawmaker for always being in touch with the people, knowing their needs and making frantic efforts to address them.
According to them, their mandate is yielding positive results, and prayed God to continue to guide and protect the lawmaker, even as they expressed confidence that the lawmaker will do more than expected.
Beneficiaries from the gesture were: Traditional Palaces of Vwang, Kuru, Za’ang, Du, Gyel, Riyom, Ganawuri, Bachi, Gashish, Ropp, Heipang, Foron & Fan.
The event was attended by directors and coordinators of the Honorable Member in strict compliance with COVID-19 health protocols and guidelines.
