…Says, “State govt, lawmakers have failed.”

by Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

As but in war situation in Southern Kaduna, barely 24 hours after the massacre in Kaura LG, seven more people have been confirmed killed in another fresh attack in Gora Gan Village of Zangon-Kataf local government area of Southern Kaduna in Kaduna State.

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)’s vice chairman in the LG, Pastor Isaac Ango Makama, who confirmed the incident to journalists this Tuesday, disclosed that the over 50 attackers invaded the village at about 7 pm and started shooting sporadically.

He said that 8 corpses found have so far been deposited in Zonkwa General Hospital, while some of the villagers are still missing.

The clergy lamented that the government and the Southern Kaduna representatives, particularly the legislatures representing the people in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, have failed their people.

“I am calling on the people to recall these representatives, who are not remorseful over the plight of their own people. The state lawmakers have not visited the IDP camp as am talking to you, right now. It shows how insensitive our people are towards the downtrodden,” stated Pastor Makama.

Secretary of Mercy IDP camp in Zonkwa, Mr. Ezekiel James, disclosed that the camp has registered 559 people, who have fled from neighbouring villages.

He added that the camp is in dire need of medical drugs and facilities to be able to treat some of the IDPs, who are traumatized.

He appealed to privileged individuals to see the need of extending their gestures towards alleviating the plight of the IDPs.

The spokesman of Kaduna police command, Muhammad Jalige, was unavailable to pick his call when contacted, and neither responded to text messages sent to him to confirm the allegation.
