Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace (IDFP) has called on religious leaders in the country to support government by sensitizing members on coronavirus pandemic, saying “the virus is real; hence the need for more enlightenment.”
The IDFP also sensitizes some Kaduna state residents on the pandemic and have also distributed protective nose masks to them.
During the exercise in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna on Sunday, 12th July, 2020, national co-publicity secretary of the organization, Imam Muh’d Sani Isah, advised participants to always abide by coronavirus guidelines.
He however appealed to all religious leaders to always apply coronavirus measures in their various places of worship – living by example – as their members are learning from them.
Also speaking, a member of the IDFP sensitization committee, Reverend Sunday Ibrahim, called on other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to also support government in sensitizing people on this Covid-19.
He also stressed the need for both state and federal governments to provide enough protective materials for frontline workers, in order to encourage them in the course of carry their duties.
Responding, one of the participants, Nathaniel Ogiri, expressed appreciation to IDFP and also encouraged them to carry out this sensitization exercises up to the grassroots.
