Armed Fulani herdsmen have reportedly attacked several mourners at a mass burial site of 24 victims yesterday in Southern Kaduna, although, no casualties were reported during the attack at the mass burial site by the militia.
A statement by the Catholic Parish Priest of Damakasuwa, Very Rev. Father Aaron Tanko, who conducted the burial for the victims of the armed herdsmen attack, called for serious prayers.
“This is to inform the house and to request for prayers as Fulani herdsmen attacked two of Damakasuwa out-stations, Chibwob and Kigudu II.”
According to him, the attack, which claimed the lives of the victims of the mass burial, occurred a fortnight ago and early hours of Saturday (yesterday), saying that “About 24 persons were killed and a few injured with a couple of houses burnt.”
Rev Father Tanko explained that the “mass burial has been carried out already,” but adding that “When the process of mass burial was on, they came back attacking even with the presence of security personnel there.”
He urged all Christians in the troubled areas to be full of prayers, in order to avert similar occurrence.
As usual, the spokesman of Kaduna police command, Muhammad Jalige could not respond to inquiries from the police until press time.
