The Kaduna state House of Assembly under the committee on ethics and privileges HSS on Monday, 22nd June, 2020, interrogated lawmakers that were involved in the recent crises in the Assembly with a view of ensuring justice.
The committee, which is the disciplinary committee of the Assembly, assured the general public that justice will be done against any member, who is found guilty.
This followed a motion moved by one of the members, Hon Suleiman Dabo, of Zaria City constituency where he urged the Assembly to take drastic action against the alleged members.
The disciplinary committee under the chairmanship of Hon. Shehu Yunusa of Kubau Constituency on 16th June, 2020, had earlier on asked the alleged members to appear before it for interrogation.
Hon. Yunusa in an interview with newsmen shortly after the committee’s interrogation assured the public that they will put away any personal interest and do justice to the alleged members.
Also speaking, Hon. Suleiman Dabo, who is member representing Zaria City, who is also the mover of the motion and one of the members of the disciplinary committee, said the members, who caused the chaos at the Assembly a few days ago, were called to appear before the committee to which they did.
“As they appeared before the committee of ethics and privileges where they were being interrogated, we assure the public that we are more like an umpire, as we will do justice to all and sundry and we will put our personal interests behind.”
