The Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, CAMPAN, in Jos Archdiocese, has a track record of observing the World Communications Day with a celebration of the Holy Mass, visitation to orphanage centers and IDP camps as well as other line-up of activities.
However, following the current wave of COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, CAMPAN is constrained this year due to the restrictions placed on the general populace with regards to physical interactions occasioned by the pandemic. They are, nevertheless, inspired by the Papal message to carry out the work of communication “with profound faith, more vigor and heartfelt enthusiasm.”
The Jos Archdiocese CAMPAN extends its heartfelt felicitation to His Grace, Bishop Matthew Ishaya Audu, on his installation as the new Catholic Archbishop of Jos and the Metropolitan of Jos Ecclesiastical Province.
“We consider your appointment as a praiseworthy development, bearing in mind your tract records in the vineyard of the Lord where you discharged your responsibilities with maximum diligence, humility and faith in Jesus Christ.
“Jos CAMPAN equally extends its profound commendation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, for his proactive response and measures put in place to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
“We equally appreciate the response and measures put in place by the Christian community in the state to provide, protect and guide its followers amidst this global pandemic.
“Special commendation also goes to the frontline workers, most especially our colleagues, who are engaged on various media activities, to sensitize the general public on the CIVID-19 pandemic,” CAMPAN noted.
