Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has said that 15 more almajiris that were repatriated from Kano to Kaduna have tested positive for COVID-19.
This was even as he confirmed that the number of almajiris tested positive are now 50, which gave to 57 active cases in Kaduna state.
The governor stated this on his Twitter handle on Sunday when presenting an update on the coronavirus in the state.
According to him, 16 people tested positive and, out of the number, 15 of them were almajiris, saying, the number of almajiris that have so far tested positive is now 50, and that active cases have risen to 57.
The tweet reads: “The Kaduna State Ministry of Health this evening confirmed receipt of 16 more positive results, 15 of them from almajiris.
“The state has now recorded 50 cases from repatriated almajiris. Active cases have risen to 57.”
