PLATEAU STATE – A member representing Pengana Constituency of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state’s House of Assembly and an elect member of the in Pengana Constituency in Bassa local government area of Plateau state, Honourable Ezekiel Afon, has been declared dead.
The Assembly Member, who was said to have been ill for some time, died on Sunday, few hours after winning the seat for the Pengana Constituency into the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Hon Afon, who was seeking return to the State House of Assembly, was said to be ill before the election and died shortly after his victory. APC state secretary, Bashir Musa Sati, confirmed his death to journalists in Jos on Sunday.
According to the Electoral Act, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, would have to organise a supplementary election to fill the vacant Pengana constituency seat, pending when the party comes out with a replacement candidate.
